Dance Was Never the Point

It was the doorway

For more than thirty-five years, I've moved through the world as a dancer, a coach, a facilitator, a teacher.

My journey began in the world of ballroom dance, where I spent years competing, coaching, and teaching. Over time, that path expanded into movement facilitation, improvisation, coaching, conscious dance, and embodied learning. I've worked with people from every walk of life—from experienced dancers and performers to those convinced they had "two left feet."

I was witnessing people learning new ways of relating to themselves, to others, and to life.

And I realized that what I'd been teaching all along wasn't really about dance.

It was about relationship.

Relationship with ourselves and with others. Relationship with uncertainty and the present moment.

When Practice Became Personal

Years later, life asked me to trust my own work in a way I never expected.

When my husband Tommy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, everything I had ever taught became suddenly, urgently real.

I couldn't fix it. I couldn't choreograph it. I couldn't make it go anywhere other than where it was going.

What I could do was stay present.

Every day, I used my practice. Sometimes I would move with music, sometimes all I could do was simply sway and breathe just to stay connect and grounded while everything around me was uncertain and breaking.

Sometimes it was grief.

Sometimes it was love.

Sometimes it was fury.

Sometimes it was just breathing.

The body moved what words never could have carried.

That season didn't change my philosophy. It deepened it.

Let it Move

What emerged was a version of Freebox gentle enough for profound grief, structured enough to hold you while you move through it.

Let it Move is my offering for anyone holding something heavy or feeling stuck.

Visit Let it Move

My Invitation

Your body possesses an extraordinary intelligence.

Culture is obsessed with fixing it. Freebox exists to excavate its magnificence, in all its messiness.

My role isn't to tell you who to become, or how to move.

It's to create the conditions where more of you can emerge.

Because the dance was never the point.

You are.

The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your relationship with yourself, with others, and with the moment.
